Kenya: Benson Omalla’s Hat-Trick Moves Gor Mahia Top Of FKF-PL Table

Benson Omalla scored a hat trick for Gor Mahia to fire the former champions to the top of the Football Kenya Federation (FKF)-Premier League courtesy of a 4-0 against Wazito on Tuesday.
Omalla opened the scoring just eight minutes after the kick-off before adding two goals to his tally in the 34th and 43rd minutes. John Ochieng made it four for the Kenyan record champions four minutes before the end of the regular time.
The emphatic win propelled Johnathan McKinstry’s side to the top of the table, two points ahead of second-placed Nzoia-Sugar.
KCB is third with 30 points, while Police FC and AFC Leopards are in the fourth and fifth positions with 27 and 25 points, respectively.
After the match, Wazito remains in position sixteen with nine points ahead of bottom-placed Mathare United Vihiga Bullets, which have seven and four points, respectively.
Gor’s next assignment will be against Ulinzi Stars on Saturday, February 18.
