The -year-old was unveiled on Wednesday at a press conference after being chosen by the Technical Development Committee following a screening procedure. Keita was hired on a two-year contract with the mandate of building a young national team that will qualify for the 2025 African Nations Championship (CHAN), the 2023 AFCON, and the 2025 AFCON. Keita previously served as the head coach of the U-17 national team.

Keita named Cooper Sannah, as Deputy Coach, Nathaniel Sherman as goalkeeper trainer, and George Gebro as physical trainer.
Others are Sebastian Collins, team manager, and Tommy Johnson, assistant team manager. Previous head coach Peter Butler left his role after his contract was not renowned by the Liberian FA. Prior to his appointment, Keita served as the senior national team's head coach when it faced Senegal in a two-legged match of the 2022 CHAN qualifiers. Despite winning 2-1 in the return-leg, the local national team was unable to advance to the next round due to their 3-0 loss in the first-leg. The first test for Keita will come in March when Liberia play South Africa twice in the AFCON qualifying matches for 2023. Liberia will travel to South Africa before hosting the South Africans at home in the return-leg.
