Atiku Abubakar, 2023 Presidential Candidate of the PDP.

The victory of the Presidential Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in Nigeria, former Vice President Alhaji Atiku Abubakar has once again been reassured in Ondo State, South Western part of the country.

Nigeria Union of Road Transport Union (NURTW) Sub- committee under Atiku/Okowa campaign Committee powered by PDP Akure Group 2023/24 in a recent meeting in Akure the state capital thrown its weight behind the candidacy of the former vice president.

According to the committees, the revival of the Union in Ondo state which activities was banned by the ruling All Progressives (APC) government could only be revived by the PDP, hence the need to rigorously work for the emergence of Abubakar to emerge the president of Nigeria come 2023.

Hon. Tony Ala, Leader, Akure

At the meeting, in the campaign office, at Akure South Local Government Area of the state, the Union members declared their support  for Atiku/Okowa joint ticket as Presidential and Vice Presidential candidates for 2023.

Addressing members of the NURTW committee under the Akure Group 2023/24 for Atiku/Okowa, the chairman, Apostle Safe Omobomi said that the drivers union decided to identify with the PDP’s presidential candidate and his running mate because of the party’s candidates credibility and outstanding developmental track records of the PDP when in power.

Omobomi talked about the bitter experiences of the NURTW and the obnoxious consequential effects under the APC-led government in the state, emphasising failure of Governor Akeredolu  particularly in the area of high cost of transportation fares.

He berated the APC government for ruining the good legacies which the PDP left behind in 2015.

He however lauded the group led by Hon. Tony Ala for its supports for Barrister Eyitayo Jegede SAN and Alhaji Abubakar Atiku.

Also speaking, Elder Akerele pleaded for unity and commitment from members of the sub committee, urging them to mobilize massively for the victory of Alhaji Abubakar Atiku to become the next president of the country come February 2023.

In his speech, Comrade Ojo Adewole assured that the union had mobilized thousands of genuine voters that would come to welcome Atiku for his campaign in the state comes November 30.

Adewole lamented poor road networks and high cost of transportation under the APC-led administrations both in Abuja the Federal Capital of the country, and On do State in particularly.

Reacting, the chairman of the Sub-committee on Inter party and Intra party affairs, Apostle Kehinde Omoniyi lauded the Union for identifying with PDP, and 2020 governorship candidate of the parry, Eyitayo Jegede (SAN) and Atiku Abubakar.

Also speaking at the meeting, the leader of Akure Group 2023/24, Hon. Tony Ala assured the Union that normalcy would return to the regulatory activities of the union, lauding them over Tuesday’s inauguration of the campaign Committee at Akure Town Hall.

Ala said, the efforts of the Union members who identified with Atiku won’t go in vain.

He assured that the union would be relevant stakeholder in  the emerging governments of Atiku Abubakar and Eyitayo Jegede SAN.
