Kenya: Nairobi Residents Want Raila To Be President

By Samuel Ouma The majority of Nairobi County residents are likely to vote for the opposition leader Raila Odinga as the next president if elections are held today, says a new opinion poll. Infotrak opinion poll noted that the Azimio La Umoja One Kenya alliance flagbearer is the most popular in the city at 49 per cent, ahead of his main opponent William Ruto who came second at 30 per cent. Prof. George Wajackoyah of the Roots party emerged third after recording 5 per cent, and Agano Party’s David Waihiga managed only 0.3 per cent. The survey also placed the Odinga-led ODM party as the most popular outfit in the county at 51 per cent, while Ruto-led United Democratic Alliance has 31 per cent. Uhuru Kenyatta-led Jubilee is at 8 per cent, Wiper party at 6 per cent, while Roots party and ANC are at one per cent each.
