By Samuel Ouma Kenya’s Supreme Court will deliver the Building Bridges Initiative verdict on Thursday, March 31, 2022. "Take notice that the judgement in this matter will be delivered on Thursday, March 31, 2022 at 9.00am before Supreme Court of Kenya," read a notice released by the court’s registrar Letizia Wachira. The appellants led by the Attorney General had contested the Court of Appeal's decision on August 20, 2021, which threw out the BBI project, which seeks to initiate constitutional changes. The IEBC quorum issue and the question of whether certain provisions of the supreme law were protected from amendments were the major points of contention. The President's ability to initiate constitutional changes through popular initiative was also a point of contention. The judges heard an appeal in the BBI case between January 18 and 20, 2022. The matter was heard by the seven Supreme Court judges. They are Justices Martha Koome (CJ), Philomena Mwilu (DCJ), Smokin Wanjala, Njoki Ndungu, Ibrahim Mohammed, Isaac Lenaola and William Ouko.
