Cameroon: Indomitable Lions goalkeeper Onana “fine” after a horrific accident

By Boris Esono Nwenfor [caption id="attachment_95037" align="alignnone" width="1080"] Andre Onana all smiles after the horific accident as he joined his teammates in Douala[/caption] Cameroon's number one goalkeeper Andre Onana who was involved in an accident this Tuesday morning says he is fine after photos emerged of his car badly damaged after being involved in an accident. The accident occurred as Andre Onana, who plays for Dutch club Ajax Amsterdam, was travelling from Yaounde, the capital of Cameroon, to Douala. The Cameroon Football Federation said he had rejoined the team in Douala after the accident and was "fine", although he was due to undergo a preventive examination in hospital in Douala. According to reports, the former FC Barcelona prodigy sustained no injuries from the accident. In subsequent photos uploaded by the Cameroon Football Federation, FECAFOOT, the goalkeeper could be seen all smiles despite what had befallen him. [caption id="attachment_95038" align="alignnone" width="1024"] Andre Onana's car after the crash this tuesday morning[/caption] Andre Onana was part of the Ajax team that managed to get all three points on Sunday in a thrilling 3-2 win over their arch-rivals Feyenoord and is once again returned to the form that's earned him global plaudits. He is set to be in goal as the Indomitable Lions host Algeria for the first leg of the FIFA Qatar World Cup qualifying playoff campaign at the Japoma Stadium on Friday evening. The team will then travel for the second leg in Algeria four days later.
