Tanzania: High Marks for Samia Hassan From Former President Kikwete

The celebrations were in regional level.[/caption] Former head of state Dr Jakaya Mrisho Kikwete  has credited President Samia Suluhu Hassan for  showing great vision in leading the country and urging Tanzanians to give her full support. Dr. Kikwete popularly known as JK said this in his home suburb, Chalinze in Bagamoyo district, Coast Region during the 45 years celebrations for the leading party, Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM) where the climax is on 5th February. He said that, despite taking power in a difficult period after the death of Fifth Phase President Dr. John Magufuli, Samia has shown that she has the courage to lead the nation even in her short period of time in power. In addition, he said that President Samia has shown Tanzania and the world that she has the ability and efforts to bring development to its citizens. “I urged Tanzanians to continue supporting President Samia Suluhu Hassan so that she can achieve the vision of bringing development to the country,” he said. He added: “President Samia Suluhu Hassan has shown courageous confidence, skills, knowledge and abilities in leading the nation.” However, President Samia is one of the very few Worlds’ female political head of state. She was sworn in as president of Tanzania last year in March after being propelled to power by the death of Dr John Pombe Magufuli alias known as JPM.
