ANNOUNCEMENT – GWENDOLINE ABUNAW APPOINTED ECOBANK CLUSTER HEAD CEMAC

We are proud to announce that Gwendoline has been appointed as the ECOBANK CLUSTER HEAD CEMAC (Cameroon, Central Africa Republic, Congo, Gabon, Equatorial Guinea, Tchad and São Tomé) in addition to her current role of MANAGING DIRECTOR ECOBANK CAMEROON. She will oversee the overall business activities within the CEMAC Cluster and will continue to report to the Regional Executive, CESA (Central, Eastern & Southern Africa). Gwendoline joined Ecobank Cameroon in 2011 as Corporate Bank Head and was subsequently promoted in 2014 to head the Corporate Bank Business for the CEMAC cluster. In 2015, she was appointed as the Deputy Managing Director for Ecobank Cameroon while continuing with her Corporate Head cluster function. Gwen was also a member of the board of Ecobank Cameroon and in these functions, she has contributed greatly to the development of the Corporate Bank Business both in Cameroon and the CEMAC cluster. In June 2017, Gwen was appointed as the Managing Director of Ecobank Cameroon. Gwen started her career in 1998 as an analyst at Standard Chartered Bank Cameroon, before joining Ecobank Cameroon as a relationship manager in the then wholesale banking department in 2004. In 2005, she joined the corporate bank team of Citibank Cameroon and rose to the grade of Resident Vice President (RVP) before coming back to Ecobank Cameroon in 2011. Her years of experience covers a broad mix of senior management, customer relationship, regulatory and risk areas from working in different roles and institutions within the financial sector. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Banking and Finance from the University of Buea, Cameroon and an MBA in Finance from the London Metropolitan University. *ECOBANK
