Uganda earned a 0-0 draw against Kenya in the 2022 World Cup qualifier opener at Nyayo National Stadium, Nairobi, On September 2, 2021.
The result is a big blow to Kenya, which was looking forward to kicking off its campaign to Qatar on a positive note.
Harambee Stars will lock horns with Rwanda in Kigali on September 5, whereas the Uganda Cranes will entertain Mali in Kampala a day later.
Mali tops Group E with three points following their 1-0 win over Rwanda in Agadir, Morocco. Kenya and Uganda have a point each. Rwanda is last with zero points.
Kenya’s attack led by Al-Duhail striker Michael Olunga was not sharp enough to cause trouble to the Ugandan defence. Composed opponent's defenders comfortably dealt with their goal attempts.
It was a lackluster performance for both sides.
