Recognising 5 outstanding women entrepreneurs as the world celebrates achievements of women

March 10, 2021

Marked annually on March 8, the world celebrates International Women’s Day (IWD), “a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women” and a day marking “a call to action for accelerating gender parity.”

This year was heralded with the theme: “#ChooseToChallenge.”

“A challenged world is an alert world. Individually, we’re all responsible for our own thoughts and actions – all day, every day. We can all choose to challenge and call out gender bias and inequality. We can all choose to seek out and celebrate women’s achievements. Collectively, we can all help create an inclusive world. From challenge comes change, so let’s all choose to challenge,” a statement on the IWD website read.

Though the celebration has been marked on just a day, we continue to honor the outstanding efforts of women entrepreneurs in leadership and business. As such we are shining the light on five (5) Ghanaian women entrepreneurs who took on the risks of starting their own businesses and challenging the male dominance narrative.
