In Kenya, a secondary school teacher is nursing severe injuries in the hospital after his male colleague attacked him with a machete.

The victim, a teacher at Karoti Girls' High School in Mwea, Kenya's central, was slashed in the head, arms, and fingers.

Police reports indicate that the two, the victim and the suspect, had fallen out after realizing they were both eyeing the same woman who happened to be an intern on teaching practice at the school.

Their rivalry went beyond control when the two teachers confronted each other in the staffroom on Wednesday, March 3, 2021.

“We have also recovered the weapon he is said to have used to attack his colleague in the school compound,” said a police source.

The suspect was arrested and taken to the nearest police station.
