Le nouveau président de la BOAD en visite de travail à la BRVM

Trois mois après sa prise de fonction à la tête de la Banque Ouest Africaine de Développement (BOAD), Monsieur Serge EKUE a effectué une visite de travail au siège de la BRVM ce lundi 07 décembre 2020, visite au cours de laquelle il a fait sonner la cloche pour marquer l’ouverture de la journée de bourse.

Souhaitant la bienvenue à son hôte de marque, Dr. Edoh Kossi AMENOUNVE, Directeur Général de la BRVM et du DC/BR, a adressé ses chaleureuses félicitations à Monsieur Serge EKUE pour sa nomination à la tête de la BOAD. Il a ensuite salué l’excellence de la coopération existante entre les deux Structures Centrales (BRVM et DC/BR) du Marché Financier Régional et la BOAD qui en est un acteur majeur, en tant qu’actionnaire de la BRVM et du DC/BR, émetteur de référence sur le marché des obligations et investisseur institutionnel.

Au cours de cette visite de travail, Monsieur le Président de la BOAD a ouvert la journée de cotation en procédant à la sonnerie de la cloche et a eu droit à quelques explications sur le fonctionnement de la Salle de Marché de la BRVM.

Lors des échanges avec le Comité de Direction de la BRVM et du DC/BR, des sujets d’intérêt commun ont été abordés en vue du développement du marché des capitaux de l’UEMOA. Il s’agit notamment du rôle structurant que la BOAD doit continuer de jouer sur le marché obligataire en tant qu’émetteur de référence, du développement de la Titrisation pour le refinancement des banques et des entreprises, d’une meilleure valorisation des actifs sous conservation auprès du DC/BR grâce à des techniques modernes de circulation de titres (Prêts/emprunts de titres, swaps d’actifs etc.) et enfin, de la promotion des instruments comme les obligations sécurisées, les green ou social bonds etc.

Au terme de sa visite, le Président de la BOAD s’est dit très heureux d’être « à la maison » à la BRVM, car il a passé l’essentiel de sa carrière professionnelle sur les marchés de capitaux, et d’y rencontrer un professionnel réputé de la finance en la personne du Dr Edoh Kossi AMENOUNVE. Il a souligné la convergence de vues entre la BOAD et la BRVM pour le développement des marchés de capitaux dans l’UEMOA en raison de leur rôle crucial dans le financement à long terme des Etats et du secteur privé pour une création de richesse plus accrue au sein de l’UEMOA.

Pour rappel, Monsieur Serge EKUE a été porté à la tête de la Banque Ouest Africaine de Développement (BOAD) depuis le 28 Août 2020.
