Facebook to help small businesses with its new digital suite

September 30, 2020

As shops and restaurants continue to experience a dwindle in customer walk-in during this uncertain time, Facebook has committed to helping small business owners overcome the shock that the global health crisis has reeked.

Earlier this month, Facebook announced a new digital tool known as the Facebook Business Suite for small business owners to help them interact with their customers and boost online sales during the global pandemic.
The Facebook Business Suite will among other things enable small business owners to edit their profiles, send and receive messages, post content and analyze traffic all in one interface to determine how they can effectively provide the products and services that their customers and potential customers want and need as well as increase their sales.

According to Facebook, the new digital tool will help “businesses save time and stay up to date by managing their pages or profiles across our apps.” A message on their website read…

“We’re introducing Facebook Business Suite, a new interface to help businesses save time and stay up to date by managing their pages or profiles across our apps. It allows them to post to Facebook and Instagram at the same time, and manage and receive messages, notifications, and alerts in one place. They can also easily see what’s working and learn what’s resonating with customers with Facebook and Instagram insights,”

The business suite is specifically geared towards small businesses. However, Facebook says it will expand the interface to include businesses of all sizes who use Facebook, Messenger, and Instagram as this is a long-term investment.
This new business suite is currently available to all small businesses across the globe.

Amanda Stefl owner of Timber Hill Winery in Wisconsin is one of several small business owners that tested Facebook Business Suite. She says

“Facebook Business Suite makes it faster and easier to analyze post results from both Facebook and Instagram all in one glance. The inbox feature organizes messages and comments nicely, making it effortless to reply to customers which will increase our engagement and reach on both platforms. The tools are helpful for managing our business’ pages on Facebook and Instagram and keeping our customers informed.”

The COO of Facebook Sherly Sandberg reiterated Facebook’s commitment to helping business owners thrive online.
“The last few months have been tough for small businesses everywhere, and while there are reasons to be optimistic there is still much uncertainty ahead. But whatever happens, Facebook will continue to do all we can to help them adapt, survive, and thrive online,” she said.
