Prix: Sam Ogrih at the Georgia State Capitol, after receiving an award

PORTSMOUTH, UK, July 31, 2020,-/African Media Agency (AMA)/- Rotary International, an organization with the stated purpose of brining together business and professional leaders in order to provide humanitarian service and to advance goodwill and peace around the world, has commended Mr Sam Ogrih, Managing Director/CEO of Delta Mega Trend Ltd, for supporting the work of the organization to improve lives. In a letter jointly signed by Holger Knaack, President, Rotary International 2020-21; K.R. Ravindran, Chair, The Rotary Foundation, 2020-21, on behalf of the board of directors, the organization acknowledged his contributions towards supporting the work of Rotary International.

The
letter partly reads, “As a Major Donor, you
join an international group of compassionate people who are committed to
serving others, no matter what the challenge is. Today — because of you —
another generation of Rotarians can care for their communities in times of
uncertainty and need.”

The letter further states that, “because of your generosity, Rotary Opens Opportunities by finding solutions that change lives and make communities more resilient. Your support is critical as we work together to address new and urgent humanitarian challenges. Congratulations on this wonderful philanthropic achievement, and thank you for building a better world with The Rotary Foundation.”

Rotary International was founded in 1905 by Paul
Harris. A Chicago attorney, Mr Harris formed the Rotary Club of Chicago, so
that professionals with diverse backgrounds could exchange ideas and form
meaningful, lifelong friendships.

Over time, Rotary’s reach and vision gradually
extended to humanitarian service. Members have a long track record of
addressing challenges in their communities and around the world.

In the midst of the First World War, at Rotary’s 1917 convention, President Arch C. Klumph proposed that Rotary establish an endowment. At the time, families around the world were dealing with fear, loss, and devastation. But in the face of unimaginable hardship, the idea of what Klumph called “doing good in the world” took root. Rotarians offered their neighbors support and fellowship. And Klumph’s suggestion eventually resulted in The Rotary Foundation that funds so much of the service that Rotarians do today. The visions of the founders of Rotary ties-in perfectly with the vision of Mr Ogrih.

Through his foundation, Sam and Lauretta Ogrih Foundation, SLOF, Sam Ogrih has continued to provide education support for over 1500 students in the South-South region of Nigeria. His support for primary, secondary and tertiary education is premised on the fact that Education holds the key to liberate the mind and set individuals on the path to greatness.

Sam Ogrih, founded Delta Mega Trend –  a Real Estate Development and Civil Engineering works company, in 2009, to help bridge the housing and infrastructure deficit in the country. With offices in Delta, Lagos, Abuja and Houston-Texas, the Company has gained a reputation for blending excellence and profitability for discerning real estate investors.  The company’s ongoing real estate development in Warri, Delta State, has in the last three years recorded significant upsurge in price and profitability for investors. It has also been rated the largest and safest real estate development in the South-South part of Nigerian.
