President Pierre Nkurunziza of Burundi dead from cardiac arrest

President Pierre Nkurunziza of Burundi dies aged 54 due to the cardiac arrest according to his Government statement.
News of his bad health started to circulate on social media since Sunday, with some saying that he may be suffering from Covid-19.
“It is with great sorrow that the Government of Burundi announces the death of His Excellence Pierre Nkurunziza, President of the Republic of Burundi at Karusi Hospital due to cardiac arrest”, reads the statement from Prosper Ntahorwamiye, the Government spokesperson
Nkurunziza dies while her wife, Denise Bucumi was recently reported to be hospitalized in Kenya due to coronavirus.
According to Government statement, Nkurunziza was rushed to the hospital on Saturday night on 6th June 2020.
On Sunday, Nkurunziza was showing signs of recovery but his health deteriorated on Monday, 8th June 2020 and he was later announced dead.
Nkurunziza was last spotted in public on Saturday afternoon where he assisted a volleyball match.
President Nkurunziza dies a month after general elections in which General Evariste Ndayishimiye of the ruling party CNDD-FDD won presidential elections with 68 percent. He was due to be sworn in later in August.
