South Africa: Integrated Resources Plan (IRP) Media Briefing

Energy infrastructure is a critical component that underpins economic activity and growth across the country
CAPE TOWN, South Africa, August 27, 2018,-/African Media Agency (AMA)/- Following Cabinet’s approval of the updated Integrated Resource Plan (IRP) on 22 August 2018 for publication and public input, Minister Jeff Radebe invites members of the media to a Media Briefing to be held on Monday, 27 August 2018. The purpose of the Briefing is to update the media on the status of the revised IRP.
The National Development Plan (NDP) identifies the need for South Africa to invest in a strong network of economic infrastructure designed to support the country’s medium- and long-term economic and social objectives. Energy infrastructure is a critical component that underpins economic activity and growth across the country. It needs to be robust and extensive enough to meet industrial, commercial and household needs.
The media briefing will take place as follows:
Date: Monday, 27 August 2018
Time: 09:00 – NB: Members of the media to be seated by 08:45
Venue: Tshedimosetso House, 1035 Francis Baard Street, Hatfield, Pretoria, with a video link to GCIS Imbizo Media Centre, 120 Plein Street Parliament, Cape Town.
