South Africa: Health Committee Meets Minimum Essential Coverage (MEC) Of Health

The committee has been on a weeklong oversight, visiting National Health Insurance pilot sites visiting hospitals and clinics in UMgungundlovu district, tomorrow the committee will be in Durban
PRETORIA, South Africa, August 17, 2018,-/African Media Agency (AMA)/- The Portfolio Committee on Health will tomorrow wrap up its oversight visit in KwaZulu-Natal by meeting the MEC of Health.
Acting chairperson of the committee Mr Fish Mahlalela said the meeting tomorrow will provide an opportunity whereby the committee will engage with the MEC on the findings and observations during the oversight.
The committee has been on a weeklong oversight, visiting National Health Insurance pilot sites visiting hospitals and clinics in UMgungundlovu district, tomorrow the committee will be in Durban. The visit is part of the committees work in conducting oversight over the executive and government departments.
On Wednesday the committee conducted an oversight at Cramond and Gcumisa clinics, as well as Appelsbosch District Hospital. On Wednesday the committee was at Mpophomeni clinic, Umgeni Psychiatric Hospital and Imbalenhle Community Health Centre.
