JOHANNESBURG, South Africa, August 23, 2018,-/African Media Agency (AMA)/- Brand South Africa in collaboration the Department of Telecommunications and Postal Services, Department of Small Business Development, Standard Bank and Ericsson will host a roundtable discussion on Policy Support for SMMEs and Women in Information Communication and Technology (ICT).
The roundtable engagement comes ahead of South Africa hosting the 2018 International Telecommunications Union (ITU) Telecom World, under the theme “Innovation for a Smarter Digital Development” from 10-13 September in Durban.
This will be the first time the International Telecommunications Union (ITU) Telecom World Conference is hosted on African soil, which presents a unique opportunity to position South Africa as the leading country in Africa in ICT and to showcase the strengthened partnerships between public and private sector for national and regional development through ICT.
Join Deputy Minister for the Department of Telecommunications and Postal Services (DTPS) Ms Stella Tembisa Ndabeni-Abrahams and captains of industry from government, civil society and corporate South Africa for this interactive session which seeks to cross-examine the policy support for SMMEs in ICT and the role women in ICT with particular focus on transformation and support to encourage participation of women in ICTs.
