Sirisia legislator John Waluke has appealed to President Uhuru Kenyatta to be cautious of his new crony if he wants Jubilee to remain formidable ahead of 2022 general elections. He expressed his dissatisfaction with the famous handshake. The Jubilee Bungoma chairman faulted Odinga for recent spat that involved him and the deputy president William Ruto on Friday 17, 2018 during the burial of the former minister Henry Obwocha. “If indeed Raila says that he forgot everything that took place during the 2017 repeat presidential elections, why is he fond of his remarks on stolen elections and his recent spat with Ruto,” reiterated the lawmaker. The Member of Parliament hinted at Raila being offered peace ambassadorial job to keep him busy moving from all over the country to unite Kenyans. Ruto and Odinga have been on each other’s neck since they parted ways after 2007 disputed elections. The two worked together in Orange Democratic Movement before they separated ways. The 2022 polls have deepened enmity between the two leaders. The opposition had castigated the deputy president for premature campaigns in his tours across country. The war of words between the two arch-rivals re-emerged last week on Friday when Ruto attacked the former premiere indirectly asking him to be democratic and accept defeat. His remarks drew criticism from Odinga’s lieutenants who laughed off his statement. On claim that Mr. Odinga and Co-principal Musalia Mudavadi abandoned him after the disputed 2007 elections in which he was taken to the International Criminal Court; the opposition leaders quashed the remarks saying they are not true. Ruto said that the two had promised him a position of prime minister, with Odinga as the President and Mudavadi his deputy. “When the election was disputed, a deal was made and Mr. Odinga took what was mine-the prime minister, they left me out,” lamented Ruto. In response that the two leaders owe him their support in 2022, Mudavadi’s Amani National Congress party Secretary General Barrack Muluka said there is no one who owes any debt, noting that he only know one debt, that is the debt political class owe to the electorates. ODM party chairman John Mbadi also shrugged off Ruto’s sentiments saying there is no debt in the world of politics.
