She is the daughter of Mallam Pogu Yahi from Kaumutahyahi, a village in Kuburmbula ward of Chibok local government area of Borno state. Both her parents are currently internally displaced persons (IDPs) in Rumirgo village in nearby Askira-Uba local government area of Borno state.
