PORT LOUIS, Mauritius, October 19, 2016,-/African Media Agency (AMA)/- TheAfrican Leadership Network (ALN) is pleased to announce that this year’s ALN Annual Gathering (ALN2016) will take place inMauritius from 2-4 November, 2016. Each year, ALN convenes the most interesting, inspiring, and influential people in Africa for 3 days of relationship-building and leadership development. Participants will leave with powerful relationships, enhanced trust, and a deeper understanding of Africa and the key trends shaping its future.

ALN2016 features an experiential keynote from Grammy award-winning jazz musicianKirk Whalum on what jazz improvisation can teach African leaders about collaboration, innovation, and leadership. ALN2016 also includes the Africa Awards for Entrepreneurship (AAE), the premier awards that recognize Africa’s leading entrepreneurs. At the AAE awards ceremony, guests will be inspired by the achievements of 12 extraordinary entrepreneurs who have achieved success in Africa despite the odds.

This year’s AAE finalists include:

Transformational Business
IBL Group
Aspen Holdings
Cellulant
Outstanding Growing Business
Zoona
Pioneer Academies
Spark Schools
Outstanding Social Enterprise
Ghana Bamboo Bikes
Broadreach Healthcare
Siyavula
Outstanding Young Entrepreneur
Chukwuwezam Obanor, PrepClass, Co-Founder and CEO
Fabrice Alomo, MyAConnect, Founder and CEO
Andrew Mupuya, YELI Paper Bags Ltd, Founder and Managing Director
In intimate tailored workshops, ALN2016 attendees will explore the challenges of leading as an African elder, millennial, and woman. They will learn about leading in an uncertain world, succession-planning, and navigating change in Africa’s burgeoning cities. They will also gain practical tools for managing mature organizations.
“This year’s Annual Gathering will be the most innovative yet; we are breaking the frame between the arts world and the business world, combining approaches from both to further empower Africa’s leaders,” remarked African Leadership Network Co-FounderFred Swaniker.

ALN Co-Founder Acha Leke said, about ALN2016: “ALN Annual Gatherings represent an opportunity for African leaders to get together on an annual basis, exchange ideas and best practices, and collaborate. Partnerships that have emerged from ALN Annual Gatherings have led to new ventures, business partnerships, and investment in projects that positively impact the continent of Africa.”

ALN2016 will be taking place in Mauritius, an African island nation which is rapidly becoming an important business gateway to the continent. Guests will engage in stimulating discussions and life-changing interactions in an idyllic African setting.
