South Sudanese wrestlers keep cattle safe

June 11, 2016

Young men demonstrate their strength to each other and potential cattle thieves in wrestling competitions.

The tribes of South Sudan have fought over pasture and raided each other's cattle for years.

So, families send their strongest men to the cattle camps, where they tend to the cows and protect them from outsiders.

They demonstrate their strength to each other and potential cattle thieves by participating in wrestling competitions.

Al Jazeera's Anna Cavell reports from Terekeka.
