CCA Partners with Good Governance Africa to Launch 5th edition of the Africa Survey
June 28, 2016
Good Governance Africa (GGA), an independent and registered pan-African based research and advocacy non-profit organisation is pleased to announce the launch of our 5th edition of the Africa Survey and issue 38 of the quarterly Africa in Fact journal, entitled, “Ethics and doing business in Africa”.
Our outputs through these flagship products highlight the need for credible data and fact-based knowledge for improving governance on the continent. Governance is a cross cutting prerequisite across the private, governmental and non-governmental sectors. In the business context, governance raises key questions about how we can promote an attractive trade and investment climate on the continent and which sectors present the best opportunities for long-term development.
These questions need to be framed around the value of credible partnerships. Investing in the continent is about betting on the future and taking calculated risks based on credible evidence. With this understanding in mind, we have partnered with the Corporate Council on Africa to discuss doing business in Africa, with a focus on key industries including, ICT, infrastructure, retail and FMCG. The Survey will be officially launched in the U.S. at a special event co-hosted by CCA and GGA, Mitigating risk in Africa: Your next investment destination.
It is also clear that growth across different countries in Africa is not only driven by commodities and manufacturing, but by a growing middle class. This raises interesting questions about how African countries should be thinking about cities of the future, the design of urban spaces and appropriate infrastructure.
GGA aims to engage with these topics in the most constructive and creative ways possible. To this end, in collaboration with the Corporate Council on Africa, we invite all media representatives to attend a dialogue during our breakfast launch on Tuesday, 28 June from 09:00 a.m. in Washington DC at the Corporate Council on Africa’s headquarters.
