Terence Hobson to discuss how innovative PET packaging solutions can increase consumer satisfaction, save costs and improve bottle performance

Terence Hobson, Managing Director of Sidel Packaging Systems in South Africa

JOHANNESBURG, South Africa, August 31st, 2015-/African Media Agency (AMA)/-Sidel, a global provider of liquid packaging solutions, announced today its participation at the upcoming African Label and Packaging Indaba which will be held in Johannesburg, South Africa from the 8th to 9th of September 2015.

The two-day event will bring together industry leaders from the packaging and labelling industry to meet and share insight into the developments of beverage value chains in the Southern African region. The conference will feature Terence Hobson, Managing Director of Sidel Packaging Systems & Regional Commercial Director, Southern Africa, who will discuss how innovative PET packaging solutions can increase consumer satisfaction, save costs and improve bottle performance.

“Africa is one of the best places in the world to present innovative solutions which address fast evolving market needs,” said Terence Hobson. “At Sidel, we recognize this market trend and as a result we constantly engage our experience and global expertise to enable active knowledge transfer. We also strive to introduce flexible and reliable production systems and solutions that are easily adaptable to market developments and future technology, supported by value-added services,” he said.

Over the past two years, Sidel has launched several bottle design innovations, including its RightWeight™ bottle concept, which can be applied across categories. RightWeight is the proprietary bottle design process that Sidel uses to ensure a bottle is both light while also strong enough to survive global supply chains, look good at the point of sale, offer a great end-user experience and better margins for producers.

According to Euromonitor, beverages packed in PET are the second most in demand category in South Africa with 3.12 billion units packed in PET in 2014, up from 2.49 billion units in 2009.
