500 000 to meditate for Peace in Africa during Africa Month

May 20, 2015

23rd May, over 20 African countries connecting for peace in Africa, with leading humanitarian and Peace Ambassador, Sri Sri Ravi Shankar 1505182“I Meditate Africa” (http://www.imeditateafrica.org) is a campaign promoting peace across Africa, encouraging the use of meditation as part of mainstream peace building.  Over 500 studies from more than 200 International Universities, including Princeton and Harvard, have scientifically proven that meditations can improve the quality of life for everyone. At a time where violence, misunderstanding, & lack of human values dominate our countries head lines. Citizens of South Africa & Africa are getting together to do something positive, uniting people on a deeper level through the power of collective consciousness. Joaquim Chissano, the former President of Mozambique is referred to as the “meditating president”, who encouraged meditation to his army and civilians, he credits meditation as being one of the contributing factors for peace & prosperity in his country. The father of our nation, Nelson Mandela said- “Regular meditation, say of about 15 minutes a day before you turn in, can be fruitful…” The Authorized Biography” by Anthony Sampson (pg. 252) On Africa’s 50th Anniversary of unification in 2013, an estimated 10 000 people from 23 African countries, 30 African cities and 54 International countries were led into the largest peace meditation for Africa. In 2014 again, during Africa Month, 100 000 people across 23 African countries meditated for peace for Africa.  A resounding sign of people wanting to do something positive for our continent. We happy to invite you to attend Public Peace Initiatives on the 23rd May 2015, where over 20 African countries will be lead into a peace meditation via webcast. Evens are happening in Johannesburg, Cape Town,  KwaZulu Natal along with several other African countries.
