Kampala, Uganda — Ugandan rapper Da Agent has changed his usual approach in his latest release, Daddy Daddy, opting for a slower and more melodic delivery after years of being recognised for his high-speed rap style.
The new single shows a different side of the rapper, who has built his reputation around fast-paced Luganda verses and complex lyrical patterns. While his rapid flow earned him admiration from hip-hop enthusiasts, Da Agent’s latest release takes a more relaxed approach designed to make the song easier for listeners to sing along to.
In Daddy Daddy, the rapper reduces the intensity of his trademark speed and focuses more on the rhythm, chorus and connection with his audience. The decision appears aimed at reaching more listeners, particularly female fans who form a key audience for the romantic-themed song.
The track, which premiered on NBS After 5 on July 28, 2026, features a catchy hook built around the repeated phrase “Daddy Daddy,” giving it a more commercial feel compared to some of his previous technical rap releases.
Da Agent, whose real name is Ivan Wabwire, became known as one of Uganda’s fastest rappers after rising to prominence with songs such as Akadodi and Nturika. His Lugaflow Lufulaa style, which blends rapid Luganda rap with cultural influences from his Gishu background, became his signature identity.
However, with Daddy Daddy, the rapper demonstrates that versatility can also be part of his artistic journey — showing that he can move away from pure speed and embrace a sound that prioritises accessibility, emotion and audience connection.
The release adds another dimension to Da Agent’s career as he continues to experiment with different sounds while maintaining his place in Uganda’s hip-hop scene.
