The Science Diplomacy Capital for Africa (SDCfA) has the proposed hosting of the inaugural Africa Science Diplomacy Conference (ASDC) 2026.
They said the conference is co-hosted by the South African Department of Science, Technology and Innovation (DSTI) through the SDCfA initiative.
According to the Africa Science Diplomacy Conference 2026 Team, the conference will take place from 30 November to 1 december 2026 in Pretoria, South Africa.
The team said ASDC 2026 will bring together policymakers, diplomats, scientists, researchers, industry leaders and international partners to explore the role of science diplomacy in strengthening international cooperation and addressing shared global challenges.They said held immediately before Science Forum South Africa (SFSA) 2026 from 2 to 4 December, the conference offers participants a unique opportunity to take part in a week of discussions on science, technology and innovation while building connections with leading voices from Africa and around the world.
The team has innvited contributions on proposals for a session, panel discussion, workshop or other interactive format.
They said they welcome proposals that showcase innovative ideas, research, policy perspectives, practical experiences and collaborative approaches that advance science diplomacy in Africa and beyond.
They said proposals have been invited across a range of strategic themes which include science diplomacy and international cooperation,strengthening multilateralism through science,science diplomacy in support of STISA 2034,global partnerships with Africa,innovation through science diplomacy,agenda setting and emerging priorities and future strategies for science diplomacy in Africa and globally.
Organisations and individuals from across government, academia, research institutions, civil society, industry and international organisations have been encouraged to submit proposals and help shape the programme of the inaugural conference.
