A new chapter in luxury travel and cultural entrepreneurship is making waves across America with the launch of Adventure by Mupenda Yacht, described as the first African American-owned yacht company offering cruising services to travelers across the United States.

The investment in the American maritime and luxury tourism industry is valued at approximately one million dollars, marking a significant financial commitment toward expanding premium yacht cruising services and creating new opportunities within the U.S. travel and hospitality sector.

The new yacht on the American waters is valued at approximately one million dollars and a capacity to carry 12-14 passengers The company aims to redefine luxury yachting by combining premium cruising experiences with cultural pride, hospitality, and adventure. Founded with a vision to create more diversity in the maritime tourism industry, Adventure by Mupenda Yacht is positioning itself as a unique destination for travelers seeking exclusive water experiences.

According to the company, the yacht service will offer private cruises, entertainment events, sightseeing tours, and customized travel experiences for customers in major coastal cities across the country. The launch marks a significant milestone in an industry where African American ownership remains limited.

“Our goal is to create unforgettable experiences while opening doors for greater representation in luxury tourism,” said Mupenda Mugabo, the Chief Executive Officer of OVM ltd.

Industry observers say the launch reflects a growing trend of minority entrepreneurs entering high-end travel and leisure markets traditionally dominated by larger corporations. Supporters have praised the initiative as both a business achievement and a cultural milestone.

Adventure by Mupenda Yacht plans to expand its operations nationwide, targeting tourists, corporate clients, and private event organizers looking for premium cruising experiences with a personalized touch.

The state of the art yacht is part of the wider Our Voice by Mupenda, an American-based company with branches across East Africa, is steadily growing its presence in the international travel and business sector by offering a wide range of services designed to connect African clients with opportunities in the United States.

Breaking business barriers especially by the minority, Mupenda says “Corporate networking events that would not leave Africans behind, note that we have not been in this industry, many believe is for the multimillionaire class of Latinos, and white Americans only and this will open the gates for other investors,”

The company provides tour and travel services, luxurious accommodation arrangements, visa application assistance, and guidance for individuals seeking employment opportunities and settlement in America. In addition, the company also facilitates money transfer services and other support solutions aimed at easing international mobility and business transactions.

According to company representatives, the organization was established to bridge the gap between Africa and the United States by simplifying travel, relocation, and financial processes for clients across the region. Its operations in East Africa have reportedly attracted growing interest from travelers, students, workers, and entrepreneurs seeking reliable international services.

Industry observers say the expansion reflects increasing demand for companies that offer integrated travel and migration support services, particularly among Africans looking for opportunities abroad. The company’s focus on luxury accommodation and personalized assistance has also positioned it competitively within the tourism and hospitality market.

Adventure by Mupenda Yacht offers private cruises, sightseeing tours, corporate events, and exclusive travel experiences across major U.S. coastal destinations.

With branches operating in East Africa and headquarters in the United States, Our Voice by Mupenda says it plans to continue expanding its services while strengthening economic and cultural connections between the two regions.

The tours and travel industry in East Africa has grown into one of the region’s most important economic sectors, driven by its rich wildlife, diverse cultures, scenic landscapes, and coastal attractions. Countries such as Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, and Burundi have become internationally recognized tourist destinations, attracting millions of visitors every year.

Tourism in East Africa began developing significantly during the colonial period when explorers and foreign travelers visited the region because of its wildlife and natural beauty. After independence, governments invested heavily in national parks, conservation programs, hotels, and transport infrastructure to promote tourism as a source of foreign exchange and employment.

Today, East Africa is globally known for attractions such as the Serengeti National Park, the Maasai Mara National Reserve, mountain gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, and the beaches of Zanzibar. The region also benefits from cultural tourism, adventure tourism, eco-tourism, and business travel.

The rise of digital technology and globalization has transformed the sector, with many travel companies now offering online booking, visa assistance, international travel packages, and luxury tourism experiences. Regional integration through the East African Community has also improved cross-border tourism by easing travel restrictions and promoting East Africa as a single tourist destination.
