The lakeside town of Mangochi is poised to take center stage in Malawi’s economic discourse as it hosts the 2026 Lakeshore Business Leaders’ Summit, a high-level gathering focused on transparency, accountability, and economic transformation.
Scheduled for April 22–24, the summit will convene influential leaders from government, finance, and industry at a resort along Lake Malawi, positioning the district as a temporary hub for national policy dialogue and private-sector engagement.
Vice President Jane Mayemu Ansah is expected to headline the event, underscoring the government’s commitment to strengthening governance frameworks and fostering inclusive growth.

The summit will feature prominent voices including Nyimpini Mabunda and Oscar Kissanga, who will bring a blend of regional insight and global business perspectives to discussions centered on ethical leadership and sustainable economic expansion.
Other notable speakers—Jimmy Lipunga, Agnes Sentala, and Tavona Biza—are expected to contribute to sessions designed to bridge the gap between policy and enterprise.
By bringing together policymakers, industry leaders, and development partners, the summit aims to catalyze actionable strategies for national development. Its emphasis on transparency and accountability comes at a critical moment, as Malawi navigates economic headwinds and seeks to accelerate reforms.
