Prince Estifanos Matewos, President of the United Africa Royal Assembly, has welcomed the historic reunion between Misuzulu kaZwelithini of the Zulu Nation and Bulelani Lobengula Khumalo of the Ndebele Kingdom, describing it as a powerful step toward restoring long-standing ancestral ties.
The reunion marks a significant moment in African history, coming more than two centuries after the separation between Shaka and Mzilikazi kaMashobane. That split led to the migration of the Ndebele people and the eventual establishment of their kingdom in Bulawayo.
Prince Estifanos noted that the development aligns closely with the Assembly’s broader vision of reconnecting historically linked African nations and strengthening cultural consciousness across the continent. He referenced earlier unity-driven efforts supported by Comforter T.S. Modise, as well as initiatives under the patronage of Mangosuthu Buthelezi and continental integration campaigns championed by Muammar Gaddafi.
He emphasized that traditional leadership continues to play a vital role in guiding communities, fostering reconciliation, and advancing continental frameworks such as African Union’s Agenda 2063. According to the Prince, true African unity begins with reclaiming shared heritage and educating communities about their history.
