In a high-level meeting with Vice President Jane Ansah, Miss Malawi 2025 Thandie Chisi showcased her groundbreaking work in sustainable fashion and women’s empowerment — a movement that is steadily transforming lives across Malawi.
As the founder and Executive Director of Sustainable Fashion and Women Empowerment, Thandie has impacted more than 600 young women and girls from underserved communities by equipping them with practical fashion and design skills.
Her approach goes beyond teaching tailoring and garment production. Thandie integrates financial literacy and entrepreneurship training into her programs, recognizing that true independence requires both technical competence and economic empowerment.
Her innovative model has attracted growing institutional interest. Among her key collaborations is a nationwide campaign with TEVETA aimed at promoting vocational skills development and expanding opportunities for young people across Malawi.
Vice President Jane Ansah commended Thandie’s bold and visionary initiative, noting that her work strongly resonates with Malawi’s youth and aligns with national development priorities.
Now, Thandie is setting her sights even higher — with plans to scale her impact and empower thousands more young women nationwide.
Her personal journey stands as a powerful testament to the transformative potential of vocational education. By sharing her story, Miss Malawi 2025 continues to inspire a new generation, proving that sustainable fashion can serve as a catalyst for economic inclusion, dignity, and lasting social change.
