Bamulopa Sulaiman is one of Uganda’s most prominent education entrepreneurs, widely credited with reshaping the country’s private education landscape through innovation and strategic investment.
Born in Jinja, Sulaiman relocated to Kampala in 2008 with a clear mission: to provide high-quality education that blends academic excellence with talent development.
In 2009, he founded MK International School in Busega as a community-based institution. Over time, the school steadily built a strong reputation for nurturing young learners and delivering solid academic performance. In 2022, Sulaiman spearheaded a major upgrade, transforming the institution with modern buildings, expanded facilities, and enhanced learning resources — elevating it to international school standards.
Under his leadership, MK International School has distinguished itself not only in academics but also in extracurricular excellence. The school boasts a vibrant music choir and competitive sports programs, including football, reflecting Sulaiman’s belief in holistic education that develops both intellect and talent.
A distinctive feature of the school is its partnership with the Uganda Red Cross Society, which provides partial operational support. Students proudly wear uniforms bearing the Uganda Red Cross badge — a symbol of the institution’s strong community values and humanitarian spirit.
Beyond MK International School, Sulaiman also owns MK Primary School in Masanafu, further solidifying his footprint in Uganda’s growing private education sector.
From his move to Kampala to building institutions that set new benchmarks in private education, Bamulopa Sulaiman’s journey reflects vision, ambition, and a commitment to empowering Uganda’s next generation — both inside and beyond the classroom.
