The African Energy Chamber (AEC) has reaffirmed its commitment to supporting energy development across Africa with a high-level working visit to Gabon this week. Led by its Vice-President, Verner Ayukegba, the AEC delegation held strategic talks with Gabon’s Minister of Universal Access to Water and Energy, H.E. Philippe Tonangoye.
The discussions focused on enhancing technical, financial, and institutional collaboration to accelerate Gabon’s energy sector transformation. During the meeting, Minister Tonangoye presented a comprehensive mapping of Gabon’s vast energy potential and reiterated the country’s firm dedication to sustainable development under the leadership of H.E. President Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema.
The AEC’s engagement with Gabon follows its ongoing campaign to strengthen energy systems across Africa through policy support, capacity building, and investment mobilisation. As part of its mandate, the Chamber has been engaging with governments to support long-term energy planning that aligns with development priorities and the continent’s broader industrialisation goals.
The visit to Gabon marks another milestone in the Chamber’s strategy to build a connected, resilient, and self-sustaining energy future for Africa. With Africa continuing to contend with energy poverty, the African Energy Chamber’s approach is viewed as pivotal.
