By Samuel Ouma [caption id="attachment_100875" align="alignnone" width="624"] Kenyan President William Ruto[/caption] President William Ruto, on Tuesday, September 27, 2022, unveiled a list of 21 Cabinet Secretaries who will serve in his cabinet. The list consists of 16 men and five women. Prof. Abraham Kindiki was appointed Interior Cabinet Secretary, whereas Prof. Njuguna Ndung’u is the new National Treasury Cabinet Secretary. Aisha Jumwa will head the Public Service Gender and Affirmative Action ministry, Defence by Aden Duale, Water and Sanitation by Alice Wahome, and Foreign and Diaspora Affairs by Alfred Mutua. Former lawmaker Moses Kuria was appointed Trade, Investment and Industry Cabinet Secretary, while Senator Kipchumba Murkomen will head the Roads, Transport and Public Works ministry. Rebecca Miano is the new East Africa Community, Arid and Semi-Arid Lands and Regional Development Cabinet Secretary. Other Cabinet Secretaries include Soipan Tuya (Environment and Forestry), Eliud Owalo (Information, Communication and Digital Economy), Zachariah Mwangi (Lands, Housing and Urban Development), Peninah Malonza (Tourism, Wildlife, and Heritage), Mithika Linturi (Agriculture and Livestock Development), Susan Wafula (health), Ezekiel Machogu (Education), Ababu Namwamba (Sports), Davis Chirchir (Energy and Petroleum), Simon Chelugui (Cooperatives and MSME development), Salim Mvurya (Mining, Blue Economy and Maritime Affairs) and Florence Bore (Labour and Social protection). "I want to take this opportunity to wish the men and women on this list, those who will assist us in delivering on the Kenya Kwanza plan, well. They will now proceed to Parliament so that the house can be approved and allow me to conclude the appointment and get this team to work," said Ruto. President Ruto also appointed former Speaker of the National Assembly Justin Muturi as Attorney General and Mercy Wanjau as Cabinet Secretary. He also nominated Musalia Mudavadi for the Prime Cabinet Secretary position.
