Pan African Visions Launches “Capture The Action” Competition In Partnership With Canon To Encourage Sports Photographers In Africa

Visit https://bit.ly/3ohnORn for more details!    Dubai, United Arab Emirates, 18th July 2022: Pan African Visions, one of Africa's leading publications, collaborates and officially announces the latest photography competition - Capture the Action - for upcoming sports photographers in Africa in collaboration with Canon, a pioneer of innovative imaging products. This partnership will see Pan African Visions provide a platform for sports photographers to showcase their talent and harness the power of visual storytelling through this contest. The competition seeks entries from photographers who capture the highs and lows, big and small wins, of athletes and performers from across Africa. Starting today, budding sports photographers are invited to participate by submitting their best sports photography images. The competition is open to African photographers aged 18 and over. Capture The Action contest is a chance to illustrate the spectacular moments of athletes in action and follow their journeys. It is also a celebration of Africa’s sports stars as well as the photographers covering them through one of the leading media platforms in Africa. In pursuit of encouraging the community of story tellers Canon is providing a platform across social channels to showcase the user generated content through #CelebrateAfrica. Focusing on Canon’s theme of Sports photography this month, Canon and Pan African Visions want to showcase moments of athletic brilliance, triumph, and glory through this competition which is to run until the 31st of July. Pan African Visions, which has a growing pool of reporters and a presence in nearly all African countries, has partnered with Canon to encourage as many African sports photographers to enter the competition as possible. Pan African Visions has previously partnered with major events such as the Powering Africa Summit, the USA-Africa Business Forum, and the Frontier 100 Africa Forum as a media partner. Ajong Mbapndah L, Managing Editor of Pan African Visions said “It is an honour to support such a meaningful initiative that not only recognizes but also celebrates sports photography in Africa. As a publication that is widely read throughout Africa, we are confident that we will be able to reach every sports photographer in Africa and ensure that they are recognized for their extraordinary contribution to sports photography.” Pan African Visions is using its extensive audience reach throughout Africa to attract a diversified range of sports photographers to the competition. "We are utilizing our wide audience reach throughout Africa to reach as many sports photographers as possible across Africa in order to #CelebrateAfrica and its diverse talent." Ajong added. The best sports photography shots submitted for this contest in July stand to win some amazing prizes and they will be chosen through public voting and an exclusive jury panel cherry picked for this competition. Canon will provide the following three prizes:

  • 1st Prize- Grand Prize winner by judges EOS R5
  • 2nd Prize- People’s choice award EOS R7
  • 3rd Prize- Special Recognition award PRO 200 Printer​
Pan African Visions encourages African residents to share their best images of sports photography.
