Ghana:Shai- Osudoku District Assembly Organizes Orientation Program For National Service Personnel

By Maxwell Nkansah The Shai-Osudoku District Assembly recently organized a one- day Orientation program for National Service Personnel in the district. The purpose for the program was to formally introduce the personnel to the Code of Ethics and hierarchical structure of the Shai – Osudoku District Assembly. The District Chief Executive (DCE), Fred Offei Twum while addressing participants, impressed on them the core values of respect and hard work in life. He urged personnel to establish a good working relationships at their respective service locations in order to secure solid recommendations. The Acting District Coordinating Director, Robert Mensah Gbley explained the core functions of the units, structures and departments to the personnel. In his address, participants were advised to visit other departments during their leisure times so they can acquaint themselves with the operations of those departments. The Human Resources Manager, Yaa Adoma Owusu also commented on the importance of decency, personnel branding and appearance. She further stressed on in the importance of the personnel practicing punctuality, good mannerisms and great public relations with officers in and out of the office. The Head of Development Planning Units, Mrs.Edith Lawuvi Gadagu spoke on the mainstream functions of the unit as the central focal point of the assembly. She informed that the unit scrutinizes all the plans for developmental projects and programs for the district. The District Information Officer, Cornelia Asante- Obeng concluded the Orientation program that her office is open to all personnel at any time to make enquiries, present concerns and contributions about the District.
